Delivering Poynton Relief Road

I have been campaigning for a Relief Road in Poynton for years, to ease the burden of high traffic volumes. The plan is for a two-mile stretch from the oil terminal to London Road near Adlington Golf Centre.

Combined with the Manchester Airport SEMMMS road, it should return the centre to low traffic volumes, even at the busiest times of the year.

I'm pressing the Department for Transport to start work on the project in 2020. The route is visible in the document attached below.

Poynton Relief Road Gets The Green Light From Government

The Secretary of State for Transport, the Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, has approved the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) for land for the Poynton Relief Road, bringing this vital project for Poynton residents one step closer to being realised.
