Member of Parliament for Macclesfield, David Rutley, went back to school, to talk to pupils at Hollinhey Primary School in Sutton.
David spoke at the school assembly about the Houses of Parliament and about our democratic values, as well as the work he does as Macclesfield’s local MP. He then met with members of Year 5 and 6 for a lively and well informed question and answer session. Following this, David also met with headteacher, Janet Mott, to discuss the progress which the school is making, and was given a tour of the school by pupils.
Hollinhey School was opened in 1970, with the building and grounds providing the school with excellent opportunities for a wide range of activities. Every classroom has two or three computers and an LED interactive multi-touch display screen. The whole school is set in well maintained grounds and is fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Following the visit, David said, “It was great to be able to visit Hollinhey School and have the opportunity to talk with its enthusiastic pupils about such a wide range of issues. I know that the school has worked hard over the last year, and will be looking forward to a well earned rest over the summer. I wish the pupils and staff continued success in the next academic year.”
