Macclesfield MP, David Rutley, is taking part in this year's Langley 7 race on 3rd November, to help raise awareness of and much-needed funds for the Rossendale Trust, which is the race’s nominated recipient charity once again.
David, who is Patron of the Rossendale Trust, will join around 250 other participants as they take on the seven-mile course, through hilly and challenging terrain in quiet lanes in the scenic countryside around the villages of Langley and Sutton. The very popular race, which has become a fixture in the local running calendar, is once again organised by the dedicated volunteer team at Macclesfield Harriers & Athletic Club.
The organisers are aiming to raise over £3,000 to assist the Rossendale Trust in its vital work in supporting local people with a range of physical and learning disabilities to live independently, building vital confidence and life skills at the same time. The Trust currently supports nearly seventy tenants residing in apartments in Sutton, near Macclesfield, and Buxton. The Langley 7 run goes past the Rossendale Trust and many of their tenants cheer the runners on.
