David Rutley, the Member of Parliament for Macclesfield, has welcomed the opening of D.J. Massey & Son’s new jewellers shop in Market Place as a further boost to regenerating the town centre.
The jewellers were pleased to invite David to perform the traditional ribbon cutting duties, as they opened the doors on their new three floor shop, which has been fully refurbished to a high quality standard.
D.J. Massey & Son Jewellers is a family run business that has been trading in jewellery of all types since 1900. Currently owning a number of shops in Cheshire, the business sells a wide variety of jewellery, from watches through to lockets and wedding rings, and also buy quality items of jewellery.
Speaking at the ceremony, David said, “Following on from the recent news that Macclesfield is set to get a new cinema and restaurant scheme, this is yet another boost for our town centre, and is a real vote of confidence by Don Massey and his business in Macclesfield. This is good news for the redevelopment of our town centre, and brings us a step closer to creating the distinctive town that residents deserve.”
