Leonie was one of many children across the constituency to take part in David’s annual Christmas Card Competition. There were many outstanding entries this year, but Leonie’s cheerful Christmas wishes stood out as the winner.
As well as Leonie’s design, David chose two runners up to appear on the back of the card. The runners up, in no particular order, were Jack Chadwick, age 8, and Oliver Martynsson-Parkes, age 6, both of Bollington St John’s Church of England Primary School.
Leonie’s Christmas card design will feature on the cover of over 800 copies of the card which will be printed and sent to Macclesfield constituents, civic leaders, Members of Parliament and community groups. The card winner also received Christmas gifts from the House of Commons.
After congratulating Leonie on her winning entry, David said, "There were a lot of excellent entries in this year's Christmas card competition. Deciding the winner was a very difficult task. Ultimately, it was Leonie's colourful design that set her apart from other entries. I know her picture will add to the festive spirit of those who see it."
