David Rutley MP welcomed six Macclesfield students to Westminster on 22nd October.
The students from Tytherington High School, Fallibroome Academy, All Hallows Catholic College and The King's School, were in Parliament for David's Parliamentary Induction Day, which allows them to experience how Westminster works and put questions to David directly.
The Macclesfield MP laid on a busy itinerary with the students being taken on a tour of the Houses of Parliament. They also sat in on debates in both the House of Commons and House of Lords. Students had the chance to listen to the International Development Select Committee discuss the crisis in Syria. In the afternoon, they had the opportunity to put questions to David and discuss his work as Macclesfield's MP.
David said, "It is a pleasure to welcome the students to Westminster. I hope that they enjoyed finding out more about how Westminster works and that the experience will help them both in their studies and in considering future career options. It was great to talk to them and find out what matters most to them."
