Macclesfield MP David Rutley paid a visit to Macclesfield College to meet with its new Principal and Chief Executive, Rachel Kay, and the Chair of the College Corporation, Anne Thomson.
It is the first time the MP has visited the College since Rachel took over as Principal in August, having previously worked as Deputy Principal and Managing Director of Tresham College of Further and Higher Education. Cheshire-born Rachel was keen to meet with David to share her dedication to high quality training and excellence in the workplace.
Rachel commented, “It was a pleasure to welcome David to the College as I know how much of an advocate he is of the College and our success at developing local skills. David shares our vision for growing apprenticeships and work-based learning and I look forward to working with him as we continue to drive Macclesfield College forward to meet the needs of learners and employers in our community.”
After the meeting, David said, “It was great to meet Rachel and learn more about her ambitions for the college. I am very pleased to learn of her support for apprenticeships, and look forward to supporting the college in realising its ambitions and their exciting plans in the months ahead. I wish Rachel every success in this important position.”
