David Rutley MP popped in to Macclesfield Train Station this weekend to meet local traders showcasing their products at a Virgin Trains pop up shop.
The initiative had the support of Totally Locally Macclesfield and helped promote our active local traders including ‘Oh So Pretty.’ The event was part of a wider programme being staged at stations across the Virgin Trains network including Stafford, Crewe and Carlisle.
Nicola Griffiths, Development Officer at Virgin Trains says: “We are so happy that the pop-up shops proved so successful once again. Hosting pop-up shops at our stations offered us the opportunity to help local small businesses and artisans, so they could be discovered and enjoyed by our customers. It is a way for us to give back to the communities that have supported us for many years.”
David said, “It was great to see local traders being showcased at the station. I hope they have been able to engage with new customers and that this opportunity will help them promote their businesses as well as all that Macclesfield has to offer. Hopefully, Virgin Trains will offer further pop up events in Macclesfield in the months ahead to help bring more visitors to the town.”
