Staff and management at leading local business Plastic Card Services, which produces plastic loyalty and reward cards, were joined by Macclesfield MP, David Rutley, to celebrate 25 years in business, as well as the opening of its new digital printing facility.
Founded in 1993, Plastic Card Services is a leading manufacturer of plastic cards and associated services, with a wide range of clients including Cineworld, Fenwick, Cath Kidston and Premier Inn. David was honoured to perform the opening ceremony of the new production facility at the company’s site in Tytherington Business Park, which has recently been expanded. On his visit, David was also pleased to meet the hard-working staff at the company, which employs fifty people.
David was given a tour of the premises by Plastic Card Service's founders, Rob Nicholls and Tim Holt, and saw for himself the state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment that enables the company to produce over eighty million plastic card products every year. He learned more from Mr Nicholls and Mr Holt about the company’s exciting future plans, and of Plastic Card Service’s commitment to a more sustainable approach to production and manufacturing, as all of the cards that it produces are recyclable.
Speaking after his visit, David said, “It was an honour to visit PCS to join the company’s 25th anniversary celebrations and learn about all that the team has achieved. They are a great example of how a company can grow UK-wide, and, indeed, internationally securing opportunities for the futures of local people. It is also good to see how they have worked with landlords, Orbit, to expand their operations, yet stay in the Macclesfield area.”
