On Thursday 14 November, David Rutley, MP for Macclesfield spent a working day at Macclesfield District General Hospital with staff and patients.
David observed in the A and E department, Medical Assessment Unit and Older People’s Ward. He also spent time with staff and patients in one of the hospital wards, the surgical admissions lounge and Endoscopy unit.
David said, “It was great to spend time working with those who save lives and meet those who depend on our NHS daily – from people who come into the hospital with an emergency to patients who are undergoing longer term treatment. I was very impressed by the commitment and dedication of the hospital’s staff and with their innovative approach to providing health care for local residents. It was good to have the opportunity to say thank you to the hardworking team at the hospital for all the work they do for our community.”
John Wilbraham, Chief Executive says, “ David is always welcome at the trust. He is a great supporter of the NHS. Patients were encouraged to speak to Mr Rutley in all of the areas that he visited.
“Direct feedback from patients about their experience at the Trust is vital so that we know where we are doing well and where improvements can be made. Any feedback that David gets will help us to further improve our quality of care for all of our patients.”
