The Macclesfield Beer Festival had another successful event this year and benefitted from the warm weather. Local MP, David Rutley, was on hand to give his support to this important community event.
The Festival, which was first held in 1995 received great support from the public, but also the weather, with funds being raised for Park Lane School, an all-age Special School for children with severe learning difficulties.
Held at Priory Park, home of Macclesfield Rugby Club, the festival has served more than 200,000 beers and raised more than £200,000 over the last 22 years. In addition to offering visitors a wide range of beers, there was also entertainment in the form of performances from local bands, a tombola and raffle, and a number of artisan food stalls.
Speaking at the Festival, David said, “It was great to see so many people supporting this important community event, which will have raised much needed funds for Park Lane School. The weather was excellent, and there was a real party atmosphere in the air. Thanks must go out to everyone who helped make the event such a success, particularly Macclesfield Roundtable, the volunteers who gave up their spare time, and the many sponsors of the Festival.”
