The Member of Parliament for Macclesfield, David Rutley, has visited Woodlands Nursing Care Home in Poynton, to learn more about the care it is providing, and meet residents at the well regarded home.
David met with Yvonne Burutsa, Home Manager, and was given a tour of the home. During the visit, David also saw first-hand how the team provides care and support for residents with dementia.
The purpose-built MHA home for up to 85 residents offers a safe place for people with dementia and nursing needs. It also has communal areas, including gardens, to help keep people engaged and in company. The busy and varied activity programme has plenty of choice for people who wish to join in and the home’s links with the local Ring and Ride helps keep residents connected to the wider world.
Speaking after his visit, David said, “It was great to meet Yvonne and her team, as well as several residents at Woodlands. Ensuring that people can grow old in comfort and dignity is important for us all, so it was good to have the chance to see this aspiration in practice. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff at Woodlands for their hard work.”
