David Rutley, MP for Macclesfield, had the pleasure of opening the new early years outdoor learning area, at Bosley St Mary’s School, on 4th December.
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of teachers, pupils and parents from the school, with David cutting the ribbon, much to the pleasure of the children, who could not wait to give the new equipment a thorough tryout!
The learning area has been funded by a £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund, and has been planned over the past year. Highlights of the area are a playhouse, large chalk board, large mirror and sandpit. The previous tarmacked surface has also been replaced with a brightly coloured soft floor, which has proved very popular with pupils.
Speaking following the opening, David said, “It was a pleasure to open the new learning area, which will offer children at Bosley St. Mary’s a dynamic and fun new space for their education. The pupils looked delighted with the new addition to their School, and I would like to thank everyone who helped to complete this important project for children in Bosley.”
