David Rutley MP is offering six local sixth formers the chance to spend a day at Westminster and find out more about the work of an MP.
The Macclesfield MP is hosting a Parliamentary Induction Day on Tuesday 22nd October from 10:00 am to 4:30pm. Students will have the opportunity to sit in on debates in the House of Commons and House of Lords. They will also enjoy a tour of the Palace of Westminster and meet David for a question and answer session.
The Parliamentary Induction Days have proved to be popular over the last few years. David currently holds two a year, with up to six places available on each Induction Day. The day is ideally suited to sixth formers studying politics, or those with a keen interest in Parliament. Anyone interested in attending should contact David’s Office Manager, Lynda Fryer by emailing lynda.fryer@parliament.uk, including their age, school or college, address and phone number.
David said, “I am privileged to represent the people of Macclesfield and work in the Palace of Westminster everyday. It is important that as many local people as possible have the opportunity to experience Parliament and find out more about how Westminster works. I look forward to welcoming local students to Westminster this half term.”
