There was plenty of Christmas Cheer to be had at Macclesfield charity Just Drop-In’s Carol Concert, attended by local MP, and the charity’s Patron, David Rutley.
The service at St Peter’s Church on Windmill Street was led by the Reverend David Wightman, and was supported by the St Michaels Church band. Attendees enjoyed many popular carols and traditional Christmas readings, with a number of the young people that the charity has helped throughout the year taking part. There were also mince pies and other festive treats to be had after the concert.
At the concert, David spoke with JDI’s Team Manager, Ann Wright, and learned more about its Christmas Card Appeal. The charity is encouraging local people to donate a small amount of money to instead of buying Christmas cards, to help JDI continue its good work to help local young people find their feet. Speaking after the concert, David said, “This was a memorable event and a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. It is always a pleasure to catch up with Ann and the team at Just Drop-In, and to celebrate a remarkable year for this great local charity. I wish all at Just Drop-In a happy Christmas, and look forward to working with it in the year ahead.”
