Spring was in the air at Macclesfield Bowling Club, when local MP, David Rutley took the first wood, to officially open the new bowling season.
The club has made something of a tradition of inviting David to formally open the season. With an active programme of events, the club has an expanding membership, with ninety members at present. In her opening remarks, Sue Munslow, the Club President told the large group of members about the progress that had been made in the last year, both on and off the green.
Speaking following his duties, David said, “It is always a pleasure to open the season at Macclesfield Bowling Club. As well as being an indication that spring is just round the corner, it is always good to see so many people taking part in such a fun and sociable activity. I wish all the members continued enjoyment and good luck for the season ahead.”
