The team behind new Poynton business, Bramhall Bakery, were delighted to welcome local MP David Rutley to their shop on Saturday 15th November. David was given a tour of the new bakery facilities, which have transformed an empty shopping unit into a sleek, modern bakery.
The new shop opened in mid-September and is located on Queensway.
Like their award-winning Bramhall shop, the stylish bakery, specialises in baking quality breads, from scratch using no added preservatives, artificial colourings or flavours. The team bakes though the night crafting the breads and other products using traditional artisan techniques. They are constantly developing new products – from sweet treats to tasty lunch options.
The expansion has created a number of new local jobs. This includes two new craft bakery apprenticeships.
The business is a family venture. Husband and wife team Scott and Joanne relocated to South Manchester from Melbourne, Australia in 2011 and have built the business from scratch. "We are very excited to have opened our second shop in Poynton and we are very much looking forward to becoming a key ingredient in village life."
Following the visit, David Rutley said, "It was great to visit Bramhall Bakery and support this exciting new local business. As well as providing delicious food, I welcome the new jobs it has created and the way it has made use of a previously empty unit so effectively. I wish them every success for the future."
