MP for Macclesfield, David Rutley, took time to support local businesses and writers, by attending a book signing by local author Sarah McNaught, hosted by the gift shop No Place Like Home on Mill Street in Macclesfield, which is owned by Heather Bamber.
The book, entitled 'Quest for the Mystical Meadow' is the second book in her Fandanzel series, which is about a magical fox who goes on an adventure with two boys, James and Alex. The series is based in Macclesfield and uses local information and landmarks, such as Macclesfield Forest and Teggs Nose within the stories. Sarah also has produced gifts inspired by the books and local nature under the name Fandanzel Studios.
David visited the shop to find out more about Sarah’s new book. He also had the opportunity to discuss a range of issues relating to the Fandanzel Studios and No Place Like Home. This helped David in taking forward plans to continue supporting local independent businesses, and to further develop plans for Macclesfield’s Silk Quarter.
Speaking after the event, David said "This is a great event for the local area, celebrating a book written by a local author, based in Macclesfield, and now sold in a local shop in Macclesfield. I understand that a third book in the series is already being penned and I am sure that the series will continue to go from strength to strength".
