Member of Parliament for Macclesfield, David Rutley has praised the work of local employers and the JobCentre Plus, following a Jobsfair held at the Macclesfield JobCentre Plus on 11th March.
A number of high profile businesses which operate locally, including Bright Horizens, Bott & Co, Contrast Recruitment and McDonald’s were in attendance, speaking to invited job seekers about prospective job opportunities with their organisations. The aim of the fair was to allow jobseekers the opportunity to speak to as many employers as possible, in their efforts to seek work and develop their careers.
In addition to employers, the JobCentre also invited Macclesfield College and the National Careers Service, who were on hand to provide advice and support to those who requested it.
Following the event, David said, “I was very pleased to be able to support the Jobsfair, which is a great way to introduce those looking for work to a number of local employers in a short period of time, and help to develop the careers of those who were invited.
“I am encouraged by the fact that unemployment in Macclesfield has almost halved since 2012, but there is still more work to do. That’s why creative events like this are important ways to help those looking to move their careers forward. I would like to thank David Dunkerley and his team at Macclesfield JobCentre for all their hard work.”
