David Rutley MP chaired a well attended public meeting on Friday 21st March where it was announced that Jasmine Park playground would now open on Friday 4th April.
The public meeting brought together local residents, Cheshire East Council and developers Taylor Wimpey. It was organised by local Cheshire East Councillors Louise Brown and Martin Hardy. Although the play area was completed last year, a legal dispute led to a deadlock between developers and the Council and the park remaining closed to local residents.
David has been working with local Councillors on behalf of local residents to voice their concerns to both the Council and Taylor Wimpey. He is delighted that the park will now be open, giving children the chance to use the excellent play facilities at the site.
The Macclesfield MP said, “I am delighted that Cheshire East Council and Taylor Wimpey have reached agreement on Jasmine Park. The park will give local children somewhere to play and will be especially welcome with the upcoming Easter holidays. I congratulate the campaign group which has been organised by local residents for their active campaign and all they have done in achieving this result.”
