Henbury residents and many visitors were out in force for the annual Fete on 13th June, at the village’s Millennium Green.
The day was jam packed with fun activities, including archery, plate smashing and other traditional activities such as May Pole dancing, involving children from Whirley School. The fete was opened by MP for Macclesfield, David Rutley, and was also attended by local Cheshire East Councillor, Lesley Smethem. The fete was well attended and funds were raised for local community groups.
Speaking at the event, David said, “It is once again an honour to be able to open the Henbury Summer Fete, which is an important fixture on the village calendar. The Fete, as well as being great fun for all the family, raises much needed funds for local community causes. I would like to thank Ann Cousins and her team of volunteers for putting this together.”
