The annual East Cheshire NHS Trust Christmas Concert took place at Macclesfield District General Hospital on Friday 14th December, and was attended by Macclesfield's MP, David Rutley.
The well-attended service featured traditional carols and songs, which were performed with festive enthusiasm by pupils from Christ the King Catholic and Church of England Primary School, as well as Christmas readings and lessons. The service, which took place in the Hospital's St Luke's Chapel, was also attended by the Mayor of Cheshire East, Cllr Lesley Smetham, and her consort, David, and the Mayor and Mayoress of Macclesfield, Cllr Adam and Mrs Heather Schofield.
On his visit, David took the opportunity to meet with the Chairman of the Trust, Ms Lynn McGill, and thanked all staff at the Hospital for everything that they do to help treat local residents throughout the Christmas period.
Speaking after the service, David said, "This was a truly festive occasion, made all the more so thanks to the enthusiasm and good spirits of the pupils from Christ the King Catholic and Church of England Primary School, which clearly inspired attendees in the audience. I am grateful to all staff at the Trust involved in organising the service for their efforts in making this positive event happen, and to all staff at Macclesfield Hospital, for everything that they are doing to look after local residents over the Christmas period."
