David Rutley MP attended the official opening of new offices by local firm AMICULUM Limited in Bollington on Friday 25th July. An independent healthcare communications and learning business, AMICULUM provides services and consultancy to leading international pharmaceutical companies throughout Europe, Asia and the USA. It operates a number of agency businesses including Mudskipper, 7.4, Delta Kn and Comradis.
AMICULUM was founded by local residents Drs Richard Allcorn and Jenny Putin in 2001. It now employs a team of 120 professionals in the UK, USA, Singapore and China. Approximately one-third of the global team is based in The Boathouse at Clarence Mill. Dr Jenny Putin, who is responsible for AMICULUM in Asia commented “Our new offices provide space for the expansion of our Bollington team which plays a vital role in our global business”.
Dr Richard Allcorn added “We now have capacity to continue to build teams in our growth areas including healthcare learning, digital services and a new agency which works exclusively on the development of new treatments for rare diseases”.
The Member of Parliament for Macclesfield David Rutley congratulated the AMICULUM team. “Creating and building a global business like AMICULUM from a two-person start up is a great achievement. Entrepreneurial companies such as AMICULUM make an important contribution to both the local economy and the UK’s position as a leading centre for the development of new medicines. The fact that they are planning to expand their team in Bollington is a clear indication of the extent of pharmaceutical and scientific expertise in the Macclesfield area.”
