David Rutley, MP for Macclesfield, has welcomed the announcement that funding from the Government’s £100 million capital investment Accident & Emergency (A&E) fund has been allocated to East Cheshire NHS Trust.
David Rutley, MP for Macclesfield, attended the second ‘Walk A Mile In My Shoes’ event in Tytherington on 18th June, to help raise awareness of the issues faced by Alzheimer’s and dementia sufferers and carers, and to highlight the need to make Macclesfield more “Dementia Friendly”.
Macclesfield has seen positive economic growth since 2010, with unemployment falling by 45 per cent. Recent investments of around £200 million made by AstraZeneca in its Macclesfield site – the largest pharmaceuticals plant in the UK - have been positive news.
Regenerating Macclesfield town centre continues to be a top priority for David. That’s why he has worked closely with Cheshire East Council to ensure that the planned £20 million new multi-screen cinema and leisure-led scheme is delivered in 2018.
