MP Pays Tribute To Community Spirit At Bollington Memorial Ceremony

Local Member of Parliament, David Rutley, has paid tribute to the outstanding community spirit, and to project organisers that have helped make the new Bollington War Memorial possible. The new memorial had its dedication ceremony on 11th October, following a Parade and speeches from David Briggs MBE, Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, and Cllr Angela Williams, Mayor of Bollington.

David Rutley MP visited Tytherington School on Friday 2nd October to meet with the Student Parliament. Tytherington students quizzed the local MP on a range of issues, including his views on local economic regeneration and recent educational reforms. Perhaps the question which generated most interest was when he was asked to name his all-time top three politicians. He talked about how he was inspired by Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill and Abraham Lincoln.

MP Supports Campaign For Macclesfield Justice Centre
