Our Plan

Our Plan to secure a better future for our local communities.

I have launched Our Plan to secure a better future for our communities. The plan follows countless conversations with local residents - and their survey responses - over the last year. You can see the key priorities below.

To help me deliver Our Plan for our local communities, I would like to know what you think. Please complete the survey below to let me know which parts of Our Plan are most important to you and your family.

Your views will help me secure a better future for Macclesfield, Bollington, Disley, Poynton, Prestbury and surrounding villages.

Please tick THREE boxes.
  • Safeguarding Local Health Services

Our local NHS doctors, nurses and support staff have played a vital role in tackling the coronavirus pandemic. I welcome the £2.1 million investment in the Intensive Care Unit at Macclesfield Hospital and the opening of The Christie Cancer Centre at the hospital.

  • Revitalising Macclesfield Town Centre

Having secured £5 million from Cheshire East Council to improve public spaces, I am pressing for plans to now be rolled out with local businesses and community groups to improve the town centre.

  • Improving School Funding

Working with other local MPs, I have campaigned for increased funding for schools in Cheshire East. I am pleased the Government has listened and will be boosting school funding from next year.

  • Protecting the Environment

Tackling climate change through local projects is vital. We must work to safeguard the Green Belt and focus housing development on brownfield sites. Air quality issues need to be addressed in Broken Cross and Disley.

  • Combatting Crime

Combatting Crime is a clear priority for David. He is working with John Dwyer, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner, and local police to crack down on crime in our area.

  • Strengthening the Local Economy

I am actively working with AstraZeneca to support its future ambitions for its Macclesfield site. We need to support our vibrant life sciences sector and vital small businesses to create more local jobs.
