Protecting the Environment

Many local residents are concerned about the safety, noise and pollution caused by higher traffic levels in Disley, following the opening of the A6 Manchester Airport SEMMMS road.

Disley is already an air quality management area.

I am working closely with local councillors and our neighbouring MP for Hazel Grove, Will Wragg, to push Cheshire East Council and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council for more effective and regular monitoring of air quality and traffic flows. 

We also want to see continued tracking of traffic light sequencing at key junctions, including at Norbury Hollow and Windlehurst Road.
