The regeneration of Macclesfield town centre is a great opportunity for the local community as further investment is neccesary to help Macclesfield reach its economic potential and make the town a more unique destination for goods and services.
A Town Centre Regeneration Forum that took place on Friday 30th November designed to engage the community in the development of important plans to revitalise the town centre, was joined by local MP, David Rutley.

Macclesfield Means Business, the recently-formed local business group that works to promote the voice of business in and around the town, was joined at one of its regular meetings recently by local MP, David Rutley, to review the ongoing proposals to help regenerate Macclesfield town centre.
The expansion of the Grosvenor shopping centre in Macclesfield town centre remains on track, as local MP, David Rutley, learned at a recent meeting with representatives from the site’s owner, the Eskmuir Group.
The plans to regenerate Macclesfield town centre were at the top of the agenda for local MP, David Rutley, when he met with Acting Deputy Chief Executive of Cheshire East Council, Frank Jordan, and Jo Wise, Strategic Regeneration Manager at Cheshire East Council, recently.
At a specially-arranged meeting, local MP, David Rutley, met with representatives from Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, to discuss their work in and around Macclesfield, and the Trust’s increasing focus on helping to regenerate the town centre.
Regenerating Macclesfield town centre continues to be a top priority for David. That’s why he has worked closely with Cheshire East Council to ensure that the planned £20 million new multi-screen cinema and leisure-led scheme is delivered in 2018.
