Member of Parliament for Macclesfield, David Rutley, visited Ash Grove Academy in Macclesfield to recognise the accomplishments of star achievers at the School, during a special assembly of pupils from the Aspire Educational Multi-Academy Trust.
It was the first time that older pupils from academies who are part of the Trust had the opportunity to meet each other and enjoy a picnic after the awards ceremony. The Trust currently consists of Ash Grove Academy, Sandbach Primary Academy and Peover Superior Endowed Primary School.
Winners included Paris Beasley from Ash Grove Academy. Each of the award winners from the three schools were given an award, as well as a unique certificate which showed that a star had been named after them.
The Aspire Trust will soon be expanding further, to include four more schools from neighbouring towns. The schools all share similar values, with the vision to want all members of the community to aspire to be better, to be learners, to be leaders and to be happy.
Speaking after the presentation, David said, “I was honoured to take part in the award ceremony and to acknowledge the achievements of pupils at these schools. I would like to thank Sue Bowen, the Chair of Directors of the Trust, and Kevin Simpson, Head of School Improvement, and their wider team for all that they are doing to help pupils achieve their full potential.”
